The over 600 graduates of Indonesian Theological Seminary (STTI), are now serving as pastors, missionaries, teachers, evangelists, social workers and church planters in over 24 provinces in Indonesia, This country, is the 4th most populous country with 264 million people of which 85% are Muslims and people groups who do not know Christ. The seminary has a serious housing crisis. The most critical need is for a new boys’ dormitory. Most of the students need accommodation while studying in Manado and the current dorm was built nearly 50 years ago as a temporary structure. It has deteriorated to the point where the floors are constantly soggy and the walls are moldy, cracked and crumbling in places. Part of the dorm was even closed because of ground water that caused students to become seriously ill. Now, with growth in the student population, the current 10-room dorm is an overcrowded unhealthy residence.
UPDATE: WE HAVE HIT OUR GOAL!
Our goal was to raise $175,000 by the end of 2019, to build a modern 2 story boys’ dormitory to house up to 84 students. This cost covers construction and furnishing of this facility including dining/study areas and washrooms. With the help of other congregations and many generous donors, we have now fully funded this need. The money raised for this project will enable STTI to build a new Boys’ Dorm, providing a healthy environment for these students to live and study. We look forward to hearing news about the construction of this new dorm. Together, you have help send these students into the world’s 4th most populous country to share Christ with others.
We are now at 100% of our goal!
