Terry and Dureen have accepted God's call to Temple as Lead Pastor!
Terry and Dureen Norris are from St. Charles, Missouri. They are the proud parents of three adult children (Meg (Skaggs), Sara (Akihiro), and Kiley), two grandkids (Judah and Zeke), and are the legal guardians of two beautiful boys (Eli and Isaiah).
Terry is currently working as an ordained minister at Harvester Church. As Pastor of Care and Spiritual Formation, he oversees the staff and department dedicated to adult discipleship and care ministries at Harvester. In addition to his pastoral background and theological training, Terry has a Master's degree in counselling and significant experience as a professional therapist and pastoral counsellor. Over the past several years, he has been deeply involved in training leaders and pastors through Jesus College and Dallas Willard Ministries as an adjunct teacher of webinars and courses. Terry teaches at Harvester on a weekly basis and also preaches occasionally in the weekend services. Dureen has also been very active in a range of different ministries at Harvester. She now works for a non-profit agency called Love the Lou, a Christ-centred organization with the mission of restoration for the inner city of St. Louis.
Terry has a deep passion to see people come to follow Jesus and grow in His likeness. He is excited about the possibility of helping the church live out of a rich, growing relationship with Jesus. Terry longs to help people understand how to bring their faith into their everyday lives as they live out the "Great Commandments" - loving God and loving our neighbours as ourselves. This involves helping people in the church discover who they are in Christ and how they can live as a missional presence in their community.
Terry, Dureen and their boys look forward to joining us on June 10-12. Please come out and meet Terry at one of the two information sessions (Friday, June 10 at 7pm or Saturday, June 11 at 10am). Following the service on June 12, the membership will vote on the affirmation of Terry as our next Lead Pastor. Please pray for God's wisdom and guidance as we seek His direction for this moment in Temple's history.
